Professor Saeed Amal is a Research Professor at Northeastern University and a recognized leader in applying artificial intelligence to healthcare. He previously served as a Postdoctoral Fellow at Stanford University School of Medicine, where he advanced AI methods for cardiovascular disease. He holds PhD, MSc, and BSc degrees in Computer Science and has published extensively on deep learning, image analysis, and medical applications of AI. Beyond academia, he was Vice President of R&D at a cardiology-focused AI startup, bringing research into practice. Professor Gene Tunik is Director for AI + Health at Northeastern University’s Institute for Experiential AI and Associate Dean of Research and Innovation in the Bouvé College of Health Sciences. He leads the Laboratory for Movement Neuroscience, where his work advances understanding of neural control, dexterous hand function, and neurorehabilitation. He holds a PhD in Neuroscience from Rutgers University and has secured major research funding, published widely, and led interdisciplinary teams bridging neuroscience and AI.
